Does any one remember a gasthaus with a name like that? It was about the only one my friends and I went to but I just can't remember. I left Gerp in 71, to many years ago. I remember it was ran by 2 women and a waitress named Hedi. I hope someone can jog my memory.  Thanks, Ron

RON,

I BELIEVE THAT IT WAS "MAW WAGNERS"  OR FRAU WAGNER.  WE ALL USE TO GO THERE AND IT STILL IS IN OPERATION, BUT THE DAUGHTER IS NOW RUNNING IT.   I HAVE READ SOME POSTINGS AND RAN ACROSS THIS INFO
MYSELF.
I WAS SUSIE DUNNAGAN, MARRIED TO DANNY DUNNAGAN, STATIONED AT COOKE FROM 1968-1970. DANNY WORKED IN FINANCE AND I THINK I REMEMBER YOU.  WERE YOU IN FINANCE ALSO? DID YOU ATTEND A GERMAN WEDDING WITH US ?

Gasthaus Glocke was the real Name meaning Bell. I remember it from walking by when I was young around 1965. Too young to visit an old "Gasthaus" as we call it in downtown Göppingen. Before I wrote these words I asked some old Göppingers yesterday to make sure it is true. I started to visit the place when the Glocke was closed or sold and some young guys took it over calling it Why Not? At that time I was around 22 and fit into the music scene. They played modern music, young people came visiting and much later there were also rumors about some kids using drugs there. The Why Not is still there and running as far as I know. The place is located not far away from the Märklin Toy factory on the main street leaving town towards Stuttgart. Sorry but I could not find anybody who visited the Glocke and could tell anything about the people who run the place. I keep looking for eye witnesses!
Greetings from Göppingen - Horst W. Müller
